Rust-Oleum Selects Transplace for Canadian Transportation Services

April 5, 2016
No Comments

April 5, 2016 (Dallas, TX)
Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, today announced that Rust-Oleum has selected the third party logistics (3PL) provider to manage cross-border transportation services between the U.S. and Canada. A leading manufacturer of specialty paints and coatings, Rust-Oleum will leverage Transplace's transportation management services and logistics technology in order to improve operational efficiencies and reduce transportation costs.

The relationship began with Transplace providing Rust-Oleum with intermodal services through Celtic International, the company's intermodal business unit. "After establishing a successful relationship with Transplace through Celtic International, Rust-Oleum identified the opportunity to expand the partnership by having them manage our Canadian and cross-border shipments," said Tim Nelson, logistics analyst, Rust-Oleum. "By optimizing our network and consolidating less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments into full truckloads, Rust-Oleum is able to more efficiently serve our retailer customers and achieve considerable savings."

By leveraging its logistics technology and presence in the Canadian market, Transplace is able to provide Rust-Oleum with the transportation services and solutions it needs to efficiently optimize the company's Canadian and cross-border shipments and support real-time visibility and tracking. Transplace's deep experience in providing retailers with outstanding service and solutions that address that industry's unique supply chain challenges helps position them to effectively deliver continuous value to Rust-Oleum's business and its bottom line.

"As a supplier to many retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada, there is tremendous opportunity for Rust-Oleum to achieve cost savings by consolidating its shipments, while still maintaining high levels of service to its customers," said John Kelly, president of Transplace's international business unit. "We will continue to work with Rust-Oleum to further take advantage of operational efficiencies in order to drive down transportation costs and allow them to better serve their customers."
