S L300 sorter

February 1, 2007
No Comments

Dematic Corp. offers its next-generation sortation solution, the S L300. The S L300 sorter uses a sophisticated system speed and flow control that increases sortation rates to 300 cartons per minute. Key to the increased rates is a new parallel divert technology that allows packages to be spaced much closer together, yet still be easily diverted effectively. This results in increased throughput at overall slower sortation speeds, saving companies energy while improving package handling.

The new linear induction motors in the S L300 eliminate drive belts, oilers, gearboxes, chains and related equipment to drastically reduce the maintenance requirements and operational costs. The modular aluminum construction of the S L300 allows for a flexible installation and can accommodate future modifications.

Using Web technology, Dematic's sorter and system controls have been designed to operate the entire sortation area as one virtual machine. Operators, managers and maintenance technicians can view the system status and operating mode from any networked computer. They can monitor, manage and analyze critical sortation system parameters from pre-merge accumulation, system central merge, induction, sortation, take-away, and recirculation. Operators can easily change the priority applied to how products from different sources are handled. Production can be tracked and speeds can be selected to automatically suit the production requirements.

DCV-TV 4: Viewer Contributed
If you're a shipper, it's never good when a rep for an ocean carrier tells you, "You better sit down before you read this."
