Jochen Müller becomes COO Air & Sea Logistics at Dachser

January 23, 2018
No Comments

Atlanta (Jan. 23, 2018) - Jochen Müller took over the role of Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Dachser's Air & Sea Logistics business field as of January 1, 2018. He replaces Thomas Reuter, who retired at the end of last year after 39 years at Dachser.

Müller joined Dachser in October 2016 to prepare for the position of COO. As COO Air & Sea Logistics and member of the Executive Board, Müller will continue Reuter's responsibilities. Those duties involve furthering the expansion of the intercontinental air and sea freight network and the connection with the European road network in order to add value for customers through intermodal logistics.

Müller joined the board of Schenker Deutschland AG in 2011, where he was responsible for the Central Europe air freight region, air and sea sales, and logistics for global relocations, trade fairs, and sports events. Prior to that, Müller was the CEO of Schenker's British subsidiary with responsibilities for land, sea, and air freight as well as the trade fair business. "Jochen Müller has immersed himself in our corporate structures, and now has a comprehensive understanding of our business processes and the challenges we face on an international level," said Bernhard Simon, CEO of Dachser.

Reuter joined Dachser in 1978 and became a part of the Executive Board in 2006. He was the driving force in helping Dachser develop international business and build up a global network of air and sea freight locations. Today, Dachser Air & Sea Logistics has 172 locations and over 4,000 employees, who generated 1.5 billion euro in sales in 2016.

Reuter plans to continue serving Dachser in an advisory capacity, but will turn his attention to matters outside of Dachser's daily operations. He will retain his seat on the board of "The WACO System" (World Air Cargo Organization) and will represent Dachser's interests in the Dachser joint ventures Jet-Sped GmbH and NNR + Dachser GmbH.
