SICK introduced a pair of new vision products for capturing bar codes and product images at ProMat on Monday.
The manufacturer of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, and automatic identification products launched the ICR620 Lector image-based reader for one-dimensional and two-dimensional bar codes. According to the company, the ICR620 can help enable track-and-trace applications for a number of industries, including automotive, packaging, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical.
SICK says the ICR620 allows customers to mount the scanner at any distance from the code and automatically optimize settings for the best possible read.
The reader has a published price point of just under $2,100. It comes in a compact, metal housing with an enclosure rating of either IP 65 or IP 67 for harsh conditions, including dusty and humid environments. The ICR620 series offers real-time decoding of all images.
SICK also is displaying its ICR880 High-Performance Camera System at the show. The ICR880 vision system covers high-end applications for linear and two-dimensional code reading. The reader is designed to work with smaller packages and flats. It captures not only bar codes but also jpeg images and can be integrated with SICK's weighing and dimensioning tools.
