DHL's Import Express Online service, a Web-based tool that helps importers control their import or third-party shipments, now serves 95 countries worldwide, including the top 30 U.S. trade lanes.
Import Express Online gives customers full visibility and control during the shipment process. With a few clicks online, importers can specify all instructions for their shipments, including terms of sale, pickup schedule, service levels, and amount of insurance desired. The service eliminates the time and expense of filling out forms manually. It allows users to easily access all waybill numbers for tracking during the entire shipment process and sends automatic shipment status notifications via email throughout the shipment life cycle. All charges are on one account number, on one invoice, and in one predetermined currency. DHL also does not limit size or weight for Import Express shipments. In addition, Import Express keeps a customer's account number private for improved security.
In recent years, DHL has expanded its network both globally and in the United States with more flights and increased handling capacity. As a result, next-day service is now available through Import Express from select cities in Europe as well as major cities in Mexico and Canada. Depending on the final destination, one- or two-day service to the United States is also available from Hong Kong and major cities in China, South Korea, and Taiwan.
