GlobalTranz Enterprises, Inc., a leading technology company providing award-winning cloud-based multi-modal Transportation Management System (TMS) products to shippers, 3PLs, brokers, and carriers, today announced that it has appointed Eric Kirchner to its Board of Directors.

Kirchner is a principal advisor to transportation, logistics, distribution and supply chain technology firms. From 2009 through 2014, he was the chief executive officer of UTi Worldwide Inc. (UTIW), a global $4.5B asset-light supply chain management company with 21,000 employees and operations in 59 countries.

"I am excited to join the GlobalTranz Board," said Kirchner. "GlobalTranz's outstanding growth and technology innovations have positioned the company as a market leader. I look forward to leveraging my experience to help the company in the next phases of its evolution."

Earlier in his career, Kirchner held various senior roles at United Parcel Service (UPS) Supply Chain Solutions, ultimately serving as president of freight forwarding. He also served as chief operating officer of Menlo Worldwide Forwarding. "Eric brings a wealth of experience to the GlobalTranz Board," said Bob Farrell, executive chairman of GlobalTranz. "His multi-modal and international expertise along with his strong network will help GlobalTranz continue developing strong strategic directions."

GlobalTranz has delivered strong growth both organically and through transformative M&A. The company is ranked the 10th largest freight brokerage in the US by Transport Topics and was voted an Inbound Logistics Top 10 3PL for 2018. The company is well positioned for 2019 with its continued technology innovation, network of 34,000+ carriers and the best people in the industry.

"2019 will be yet another year of strong growth for GlobalTranz," said Renee Krug, chief executive officer of GlobalTranz. "Having someone of Eric's caliber on our board improves our ability to create strategies that keep us on top of the market. I am thrilled to have Eric join our board."
