TopVox Corp., the Barrington, Ill., manufacturer of voice-directed solutions for supply chain work processes, displayed its combined image- and voice-enabled picking solution. The Lydia Smart Watch product combines voice and vision to boost safety, efficiency, and ergonomics, said project manager Ryan Absil. Users hear speech-directed instructions through the mobile Voxter device worn either with a belt and headset combination or in a breathable vest with integrated speaker and microphones called the Lydia VoiceWear. By displaying pictures on any consumer smartwatch, the system helps reduce picking errors, especially for logistics providers that handle a wide variety of products with many of the same SKUs in different versions.
