Online ordering and fast delivery is a powerful trend in the food and grocery sector, and now a software startup is allowing both consumers and merchants to compare delivery services, rate drivers, and track their mobile meals in real time.
Consumers have a surging variety of options for meal delivery, such as the food and grocery delivery services UberEATS, Grubhub, DoorDash, Postmates, Instacart, Doorstep Delivery, and an array of services offered by individual restaurants and grocers.
Orlando-based MunchEm says consumers need an effective tool to compare all those food and delivery services, so it has created an aggregator platform to discover, compare, and save on delivery services.
Similar to how the travel website Kayak allows consumers to compare airplane flight prices and schedules from a single pOréal, MunchEm allows consumers to find delivery prices and delivery times without checking multiple sites and entering their information repeatedly, the company says.
MunchEm says its service , available via either website or smartphone app, will help consumers avoid overpaying for food and delivery and also allow merchants and delivery services to become more efficient.
Food merchants can also save money by using MunchEm aggregator software and tools to select the third-party delivery services with the lowest commissions and most reliable delivery.
Finally, local delivery services can use MunchEm to compete with larger players by offering features that can reduce cost and increase efficiency, allowing them to prevail over fierce competition, thin margins, and operating challenges.
