Eaton Corp. has introduced HMi, a family of analog touchscreen operator interfaces with programmable function buttons that provide an efficient and easy-to-use machine management solution. HMi is suited for midrange control and automation applications, such as packaging and material handling equipment. The solution delivers fast and easy installation and program configuration by combining a user-friendly, flexible software package and a foldout quick start guide that ships with the product.
The device's macro ability enables users to store application recipes, images, historical trends and alarm data. Its Picture Bank feature can also upload and download pictures or images from HMi to a personal computer. An expansion slot located in the back of the HMi unit and serial communication ports provides users with options to connect to a parallel printer, Ethernet network or I/O modules to achieve maximum performance.
Manufacturers occasionally need to upgrade or downsize operator interfaces, which can sometimes lead to distorted applications. To prevent distortion, HMi provides a flexible product breadth that allows users to scale images to fit any of the device screen sizes.
