Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA), a provider of forklift trucks in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Latin America, has introduced the new Jungheinrich EKX 410 man-up turret truck. This forklift truck, which operates exclusively in narrow aisles, can be used for full pallet put-away and retrieval as well as for picking individual boxes or pieces.
Energy efficiency and performance were important components to the design of the new EKX 410, according to MCFA. Many standard features on this forklift increase productivity in very narrow aisle warehouse applications, including its 48-volt fourth-generation AC technology. This three-phase AC technology helps provide high performance while driving, lifting, and steering as well as high throughput levels and low energy consumption, according to the company.
The lift truck also features advanced regenerative braking and lowering, which allows reclaimed energy to return to the battery. This feature helps reduce the amount of downtime needed for battery charging and is especially beneficial in applications with high lift heights.
The EKX 410's low swiveling side shifting turret head gives operators good visibility of the load and aisle. Strobe lights located under the cab and on the back of the forklift act as an additional warning device, helping to alert personnel in the surrounding area when the truck is in operation.
