DHL Supply Chain announces name change of Exel Freight Connect to DHL Transport Brokerage

WESTERVILLE, OHIO September 25, 2017: DHL Supply Chain, the Americas' leader in contract logistics and part of Deutsche Post DHL Group, today announced that Exel Freight Connect, its freight brokerage company, has transitioned to its new name, DHL Transport Brokerage. To enable a global customer experience, the North American supply chain business of Deutsche Post DHL Group began operating under the DHL Supply Chain name in January 2016. The DHL Transport Brokerage name change is part of the next phase of this brand transition, which is a multi-year effort.

"We are excited about the introduction of this new company name - DHL Transport Brokerage - as it better reflects where our business is headed," said Jim Monkmeyer, President of Transportation, DHL Supply Chain. "The DHL Transport Brokerage name shows our commitment to our customers, as we'll be able to provide them with a more consistent and seamless experience across all markets."

DHL Transport Brokerage is a leading provider of custom freight brokerage solutions specializing in truckload, less than truckload (LTL) and expedited shipments. It services the United States, Canada and Mexico, and is located in Columbus, Ohio. The company manages $1 billion in freight annually through a vast network of the country's most reliable carriers. Operations under the new DHL Transport Brokerage will not be impacted other than a name change.

"DHL Transport Brokerage is still the same company with the same people — now with a name that allows us to align our brokerage business under our global transportation services umbrella, and to operate as a consistent brand," said Monkmeyer. "Under this new name, we'll continue to exceed our customers' expectations by moving even the toughest of loads through our partnership with thousands of trusted carriers and by offering innovative, industry-leading solutions, so each load is delivered on-time, every time."
