Case picking system for mixed-use pallets

German company SSI Schaefer has now introduced to the U.S. market a case-picking system for large-volume, mixed-use pallets. The system, known as SCP, seamlessly automates all processes from receiving, de-palletizing, selecting, sequencing, and customer-specific palletizing, the company said. The SCP system can handle between 30,000 and 300,000 cases per day. According to Schaefer, pilots at two Fortune 500 companies show that the system saves on labor costs per unit by as much as 30 percent.
