The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) is accepting nominations for its 2019 Humanitarian Logistics Awards, the organization said Tuesday.
Launched in 2017, the awards recognize companies and individuals who demonstrate excellence in delivering aid and comfort to communities in crisis. The awards are presented annually at the Conference of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) EDGE Annual Conference, held each fall.
Lakeland, Fla.-based ALAN awards individuals and companies in the following categories:
Organizations and individuals may self-nominate or nominate their supply chain peers. Nominations can be made until July 19 via ALAN's website.
"The supply chain industry is full of unsung heroes who consistently go above and beyond to serve others. That's why we created these awards two years ago," ALAN's Executive Director Kathy Fulton said in a statement announcing the 2019 awards, adding that it's possible to have multiple winners in each award category. "... we anticipate that there could be many [winners] this year, because of the amazing outpouring of good work we've seen. With that in mind, we hope that people and companies will feel free to nominate or even to self-nominate so that we can give more great humanitarians the recognition they deserve."
