SPS Commerce Supercharges Retailers' Merchandising Strategies Through Expanded Sourcing Offering

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 18, 2016 -- SPS Commerce, Inc. (Nasdaq:SPSC), a leader in retail cloud services, unveiled the latest advancement to the SPS Commerce Sourcing solution, including an expanded service for retailers that streamlines the process of selecting and onboarding vendors by tapping into the vast SPS Retail Network and its team of experts. SPS Sourcing empowers retailers to fulfill their growth potential by guiding merchandisers through a proven process that brings compelling brands to the shopping experience. Retailers, including SHOP.COM, are using Sourcing to strategically expand product offerings in current and new categories, offer local items and enter new markets with qualified vendors that align with their merchandising strategies.

"The SPS Commerce cloud platform is powering the digital retail era, offering retailers access to thousands of brands across countless categories," said Peter Zaballos, vice president of marketing and product at SPS Commerce. "Our newest sourcing service gives retailers a powerful merchandising advantage, providing access to vendors that meet their merchandising and supply-chain requirements. Traditional vendor discovery and onboarding programs simply can't keep pace with the demands of the omnichannel consumer for product variety and the pressure that puts on retailers."

SHOP.COM, a global e-commerce retailer ranked No. 64 in the 2015 Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide and the 18th fastest growing Internet Mobile Retailer, used Sourcing from SPS Commerce in late 2015 to expand its sales volume in select product categories, including soft goods and consumables. To date, the retailer has added more than 50,000 items from 50 drop-ship capable vendors and distributors from the SPS Retail Network.

"SPS Commerce introduced us to scores of qualified vendors that we didn't know existed but were a perfect fit for our merchandising strategy," said Eddie Alberty, vice president of strategic partnerships at SHOP.COM. "The solution has streamlined our sourcing process by relying on SPS to identify and pre-screen vendors, allowing our merchandisers to focus on vendors that met our merchandising, supply-chain and financial requirements. SPS is a strategic part of our growth strategy as we expand into new markets with the compelling brands that improve the SHOP.COM consumer experience."

SPS Sourcing's new capabilities use a data-driven process that helps retailers facilitate relationships with well-matched vendors and filter out incompatible brands. Once vendors are identified from the SPS Retail Network, hundreds of retail professionals at SPS Commerce can screen each vendor for compatibility and broker introductions
