Scout RFP Advances Customer Focus with Leadership Team Additions

New VP of Product and VP of Demand Further Extends Deep Commitment to Customers and Market Need

Scout RFP Advances Customer Focus with Leadership Team Additions

Scout RFP, the company that is reinventing Sourcing and Procurement, is pleased to welcome Chris Wada, former VP of Product at ServiceMax, as its new VP of Product. Additionally, Michaela Dempsey, who previously held the role of Senior Director of Marketing at Scout, has been promoted to VP of Demand. Both positions reflect the company's keen focus on customers and market need. Wada will help drive further breadth and depth to products in response to or anticipation of customer needs. Dempsey will advance the company's market education and outreach efforts.

"Scout RFP is already well known for its obsessive focus on customers and advancing sourcing as a business-critical function and profession," said Alex Yakubovich, CEO of Scout RFP. "Chris has a proven track record of listening to customers and driving multifaceted product development, while Michaela has been an integral part of our engagement with the sourcing and procurement community. We expect these new roles to increase our responsiveness to customer needs and industry leadership."

Wada has a long established reputation for being able to turn customer requests into salient product features, while also directing innovation to stay ahead of customer needs. He holds more than 15 years of industry experience in product development. While at ServiceMax, Wada was responsible for the product vision and design of all applications and oversaw the product management and user experience design teams. Prior to ServiceMax, Wada served as Director of Product for SAP SuccessFactors, and held product and engineering roles at Hotwire and PeopleSoft.

Dempsey has lead marketing at Scout RFP for nearly three years, including leading Scout's SPARK conferences for the deep exchange of knowledge, experience and ideas. She has been directly involved with the company's community building and educational investments. Previously, she led marketing and demand for brands including Apteligent (acquired by VMWare), and Anaplan. In her new role as VP of Demand, Dempsey will continue to lead strategic marketing efforts and drive global marketing demand strategy for Scout.

The new additions come after Scout's recent $33 million in Series C funding, announcement of its newest product, Scout Dynamic Negotiations and Analytics, and a successful SPARK Conference earlier this year. For more information on Scout RFP, visit www.scoutrfp.com.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.

Now the company is ready for the next step: greening up the glue.
