Swisslog Logistics Automation Americas, leading provider of best-in-class warehouse automation and software, has named David Schwebel as its new Vice President of Business Development and Market Intelligence.

Schwebel previously served as Swisslog's Senior Director of Business Development.

According to John Dillon, Vice President of Swisslog's E-commerce/Retail business unit, "David is highly regarded in the material handling industry and has proven to be very effective in establishing strategic relationships with companies who can benefit from Swisslog's flexible, robotic and data-driven automation solutions. In addition, David represents Swisslog in leadership roles in a number of associations, including MHI and SCLA, and manages our important strategic relationships with technology partners like AutoStore and others. In his new role, he will also drive insight into the competitive position of our solutions in order to educate our sales teams."


Prior to joining Swisslog, Schwebel worked as managing executive with Material Handling Industry (MHI), the trade association for the material handling and supply chain industry. He previously held a number of leadership, strategy, engineering and business design roles at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated. As a consultant, Schwebel executed business process redesign and improvement projects for automated warehouses, packaging suppliers and supply chain information technology integrators.

He graduated from North Carolina State University, with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, and a master's degree in integrated manufacturing systems engineering. He is also an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Lean Black Belt.
