Southeastern Freight Lines' Macon Service Center Celebrates 25 Years of Service

September 6, 2018
No Comments

Southeastern Freight Lines, the leading provider of regional less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services, is celebrating 25 years of quality without question service at its Macon, Georgia, service center.

Located at 801 Joe Tamplin Industrial Boulevard in Macon, Georgia, the service center opened for business on August 9, 1993, with 20 dock doors and 20 associates. Since then, the facility has grown to 45 dock doors and 40 associates, three of which are also celebrating 25 years with the service center.

These three original associates include Pickup and Delivery Combo Driver David Strickland, Linehaul Driver George Kitchens, and Pickup and Delivery Driver Thomas Harwell, all of which have been at the Macon service center since its opening in 1993 and remain active with Southeastern today. Harwell, an employee for 37 years, and Strickland, an employee for 33 years, came to Macon from Southeastern's Atlanta-area service centers.

"Dedicated team members like David, George and Thomas play an integral role in the growth we have experienced in Macon over the last two decades," said Matt Brown, service center manager, Southeastern Freight Lines. "As we celebrate this milestone, we're excited to continue growing and serving the region for years to come."

The Macon service center was the 39th service center opened by Southeastern Freight Lines since its founding in 1950. The company now operates 89 service centers spanning 13 states, Canada and Puerto Rico, and has undergone numerous upgrades in trucks and trucking technologies.
