HighJump Expands Global Footprint in Eastern, Central Africa with BIDCO Africa Limited

MINNEAPOLIS - August 7, 2018 - HighJump, a global provider of supply chain solutions, today announces that, in partnership with independent software developer, innovator and team augmentation partner iWMS, it is modernizing the operations of leading manufacturer of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) BIDCO Africa Limited. This is one of many recent global new customers for HighJump, and displays both HighJump's and BIDCO Africa Limited's commitment to empower customers worldwide with the digital, connected, and automated supply chain of the future.

Consumer expectations are driving the supply chain to change. From reverse logistics, to same-day delivery, to mobility, to social engagement and beyond, companies need solutions to handle new business models, stressed traditional logistics systems and deconsolidating networks. Capitalizing on the HighJump WMS and supply chain analytics application HighJump Pulse, BIDCO Africa Limited is on a path to make this a reality.

"Our vision is to build an optimized, growth-oriented, end-to-end, seamless supply chain; leveraging best business practices, eliminating waste/muda, delivering comprehensive value to our customers and providing a competitive advantage," said Milan Vyas, head of supply chain, BIDCO Africa Limited. "The first deployment of its kind in Eastern or Central Africa, our work with HighJump demonstrates both of our commitment to revolutionize the region with next-generation technologies and driving the digitization of the supply chain. We're creating a 'platform for the future'. BIDCO supply chain is a strategic asset for improving operational efficiencies, driving growth and meeting current and evolving expectations to increase customer satisfaction."

With an objective to hit a billion-dollar revenue within the next five years, BIDCO Africa Limited is constructing a state-of-the-art industrial park with 10 new factories. BIDCO Africa Limited, with HighJump and the support of iWMS, is gaining end-to-end supply chain transparency to improve today's workflows and seamlessly adapt to its rapid growth trajectory. This includes evolving operations with advanced traceability and recall management, inventory management, tracking and shipping via FEFO/FIFO expiry dates, and increased worker productivity. All of this is powered through real-time data analytics instantly interpreted in the WMS. The solution also easily integrates with BIDCO Africa Limited's SAP ERP.

"We needed a WMS built to scale with our expansion capabilities," said Alkane Patel, chief information officer, BIDCO Africa Limited. "After rigorously evaluating seven providers, HighJump proved to have the best-in-class functionality. This includes upgradability, system adaptability, industry experience with implementation partner expertise, and interface capabilities at the lowest total cost of ownership. We now have the confidence to grow our business sustainably with visibility into performance metrics and a foundation for continuous process improvement."

"Empowering BIDCO Africa Limited to easily meet changing business and customer demands showcases HighJump's dedication to and capabilities for fueling the supply chain of the future across global borders," said David Houser, senior vice president, international sales and operations, HighJump. "We make this possible by providing the solutions of tomorrow and acting as an extension of our customers' teams."

"We are proud to welcome BIDCO Africa Limited into the iWMS family and for the opportunity to enter the Kenyan market," said Richard Evans, CEO, iWMS. "We look forward to a long and fruitful association in which both companies can grow their potential in the region."

BIDCO Africa Limited manufactures premium brands available across 17 countries in Africa. This is one of many recent wins for HighJump and iWMS, including Jack's of Fiji and Woolworths.

In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.
