3Gtms Expands Partnership with SMC3 for LTL Rating and Transit Data

TMS customers get powerful API solutions to optimize the LTL shipment lifecycle

3Gtms Expands Partnership with SMC3 for LTL Rating and Transit Data

3Gtms, Inc., a global provider of Tier 1 transportation management software, announced it has expanded its partnership with SMC3 to offer the SMC3 RateWare® XL, CarrierConnect® XL and CzarLite® solutions to its customers. Fully integrated into the 3Gtms transportation management system (TMS), these API solutions give customers more accurate and timely rating and transit-time information, as well as broader pricing visibility.

With RateWare XL, 3Gtms customers have a durable rating engine and library of more than 3,000 data modules to simplify LTL pricing and eliminate the costly mistakes of sourcing, programming and maintaining data from multiple carriers. RateWare XL, which also allows users to analyze small-package shipments, can return rates in milliseconds, but also enables customers to batch rate, returning rates at a speed of 60,000 shipments per minute. CarrierConnect XL compiles real-time transit times and service detail from more than 300 leading national, super-regional and regional carriers across North America, helping customers make the most informed choice for LTL shipments. 3Gtms customers using CzarLite have a flexible decision-support tool to assure total pricing visibility and achieve optimal shipping agreements, whether goods are shipping in the U.S., Canada or Mexico.

"Our customers are successful because they respond rapidly to the industry's demands, and it's our job to make sure our TMS keeps up," said J.P. Wiggins, vice president of logistics at 3Gtms. "With partners like SMC3, customers get more visibility, more accurate data, and more options for their specific LTL needs - all integrated directly into our TMS."

"3Gtms is a trusted SMC3 partner. We're pleased to be expanding our relationship with one of the fastest-growing TMS providers in the supply chain arena, adding unrivaled LTL technology solutions to their TMS," said Andrew Slusher, CEO and president of SMC3.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002.
