Rain or Shine, FreightCenter Ships 8 Tons of Bottled Water to RAP River Run Finish Line

The Palm Harbor-based company sends 16,000 pounds of water bottles to the RAP River Run Charity Race this Saturday in New Port Richey.

FreightCenter, as a third-party logistics provider, provides flexible service options and convenient ways to ship freight nationwide and around the world. The company also makes an impact in our area by giving back to the local community. That's why the company covers the cost to ship bottled water for the RAP River Run annual charity race to benefit the RAP House in New Port Richey.
"The RAP House is a wonderful organization that provides great resources to youth and families in need. We're proud to provide our services for the fifth year in support of their mission and we look forward to many more years to come," says FreightCenter CEO, Matthew Brosious. "We're always so focused on providing services that will help businesses grow. It's important to take a step back at times and realize how we can use those same services to help the community grow."
FreightCenter partners with a nationwide network of trucking companies. It contracts one of those companies, R+L Carriers to transport the shipment from Nestle Waters North America Inc. in Zephyrhills to Victoria Barley, a RAP River Run representative in New Port Richey. R+L Carriers will pick up the shipment on Thursday, June 9 and deliver it on Friday, June 10.
"We are grateful for our business sponsors, our race participants and our volunteers. Without them this event would not be as successful. We fundraised over $700,000 and have increased our reach to over 350 children annually," says Barley.
The RAP River Run is an annual walk/run race that takes place every summer at Sim's Park in downtown New Port Richey. Proceeds go to the Runaway Alternative Project (RAP) House. The RAP House is located in New Port Richey and is open to youths ages 10-17 who are runaway, homeless or in need of short-term out of home respite placement. RAP House provides 24 hour, 7 day a week admission services, youth supervision, food, clothing if needed, crisis counseling, life skills education, individual and family counseling, recreation and leisure time activities and case management services.
