ITS Logistics triples downtown office space for brokerage division

ITS Logistics triples downtown office space for brokerage division

RENO, Nev. (May 9, 2016) — The fast-paced, fast-growing freight brokerage operations of ITS Logistics will move into office space that nearly triples the size of its previous home. The new office will occupy the entire top floor of the four-story office tower at 50 West Liberty Street in downtown Reno, NV.

"The success of our fast-growing brokerage division requires more space so that we can keep up with the pace of our customer acquisition," said Greg Sanders, Chief Commercial Officer of ITS Logistics. "Our staff in the downtown office has grown by more than 40 percent in the last year, and we expect that trend to continue in 2016."

ITS National, the brokerage arm under the ITS umbrella, provides truckload, less-than-truckload and intermodal brokerage and transportation management to large and small shippers across the country. In less than five years, this division has grown significantly and now makes up approximately 40 percent of the overall revenues for ITS Logistics.

Mike Crawford, General Manager of the freight brokerage group, said the company sees important strategic advantages in its expansion into first-class office space that's in the heart of downtown and only two blocks from the trend-setting Midtown district.

"Our team works hard every day, and they like the vibe of downtown and Midtown—fitness centers, great restaurants, coffee shops and the ability to take a lunchtime run by the Truckee River," Crawford said. "It was important to us, being so invested in the Northern Nevada community for more than 16 years, to continue to support and be a part of the awesome downtown environment Reno has."

While ITS Logistics is a huge supporter of Wolf Pack athletics they also work very closely with faculty and students at both the University of Nevada, Reno and Truckee Community College in providing career opportunities for graduates. The new office, Crawford noted, is easily accessible from both campuses.

The company, which is undertaking significant tenant improvements in the newly leased office space, expects to complete its move in early August. The building is owned and managed by Reno-based Basin Street Properties.
"It's great to see a local company like ITS expanding in downtown Reno," said Par Tolles, President of Basin Street Properties. "Their success exemplifies Reno's diverse job growth and economic momentum, and it's a piece of the 30,000 square feet of downtown office space absorption we've seen in the first quarter of 2016."

The move of the freight brokerage group into expanded space comes at the same time ITS Logistics is completing the move of its corporate office, warehouse and distribution center and Reno/Sparks trucking operations into a 630,000-square-foot campus at 555 Vista Blvd. That move is expected to be complete this summer as ITS completes several million dollars of improvements in the facility at the east edge of Sparks.

ITS Logistics is one of the fastest growing third-party logistics companies in the nation. A 2015 partnership with investment firms McNally Capital and Coughlin Capital to enhance the growth of the company highlights ITS Logistics' long-term stability in Northern Nevada, as well as its projected future expansion in other strategic markets throughout the country.
