Leading New York Distributor Ginsberg's Foods Upgrading to
Appian Routing and Scheduling Solutions from TMW Systems

UniPro Shareholder Moves to Appian DirectRoute™ and DRTrack™ Operations Solutions from TMW to Optimize Daily Routing and Fixed-Route Management

CLEVELAND, Ohio, April 13, 2016 - Ginsberg's Foods, one of the largest family-owned and operated independent food service distributors in the eastern U.S., is upgrading its fleet routing, scheduling, web reporting and GPS tracking capabilities by implementing Appian DirectRoute™ and DRTrack™ Operations solutions from TMW Systems. Serving customers across a six-state region from its Hudson, N.Y., headquarters and warehouse facility, the 107-year-old distributorship is investing in the Appian solutions to increase efficiency, enhance service levels and reduce costs. Ginsberg's is a shareholder in the UniPro Foodservice cooperative.

"The Appian solutions are much more user-friendly than our current software and offer significantly greater visibility and control for our dispatcher," said Larry Bigando, transportation manager, Ginsberg's Foods. "We will be able to compare various routing options and their corresponding costs so we can make better, faster decisions that benefit our customers and our bottom line."

Ginsberg's will replace its legacy routing application with Appian DirectRoute software to simplify fixed-route creation and management, while the DRTrack Operations solution will automate daily routing and enable mobile communication with drivers of each of the company's 51 trucks. The integrated solutions will allow Ginsberg's sales team members to monitor delivery performance by account on a real-time basis in order to enhance customer communication and satisfaction.

Appian DirectRoute final-mile optimization software helps companies reduce transportation costs, control field operations and improve customer service through more efficient route planning and management. Appian-automated route plans average 10 to 15 percent fewer trucks, drivers and hours compared to manually developed plans, and users typically experience reductions as high as 15 percent in total distribution costs.

Appian DRTrack adds real-time visibility to DirectRoute through fleet tracking and web-based reporting. With the ability to use GPS data from a variety of vehicle tracking systems and devices, DRTrack can also provide online track-and-trace service for a distributor's customers. Track-and-trace information is updated continuously with the most current fleet position data.

"We are proud that one of the best-known and most respected food service distributors in North America has recognized the value of our leading-edge Appian solutions," said TMW Systems President David W. Wangler. "Service excellence is at the very core of Ginsberg's impressive growth. Their investment in more powerful delivery management tools will strengthen that competitive advantage while reducing their delivery costs."
To learn more about these and other Appian solutions, please contact your TMW Systems representative, visit www.tmwsystems.com, or call (800) 401-6682.
