Spend Management Experts, a leading financial supply chain consultancy, today announced that Gary Colangelo, Vice President of Client Service, will participate in a panel discussion on essential supply chain issues that are significantly impacting shipping operations during Multichannel Merchant's fifth annual Operations Summit, April 12 - 14, in Cincinnati, OH.

Colangelo will join executives from FedEx, Circa Lighting and Tobi.com in sharing insights on the biggest changes to the operations industry that are shaping 2016 and beyond, including Amazon's entrance into the logistics industry, the rapid growth of ecommerce, omnichannel fulfillment, and cross-border shipping. Panelists will address questions based on Multichannel Merchant's MCM Outlook 2016 report, and will reveal best practices that attendees can implement to improve supply chain and fulfillment operations.

"We've seen dramatic changes to the logistics industry since the start of 2016, and we're not expecting things to calm down anytime soon," said Colangelo. "Amazon's entry into logistics is going to have massive ripple effects throughout all operations channels, compounding the already dynamic carrier landscape. Merchants will need to closely monitor the state of operations, including changes in shipping and logistics, to adapt to today's omnichannel retail environment."

This year's Operations Summit will offer a series of sessions covering a full range of ecommerce and operations and fulfillment topics. More than 700 attendees will discuss the latest trends, strategies and best practices for direct-to-customer retail operations during the conference at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati.
