Elemica Honored With Third Patent for Next Generation Supply Chain Network

Wayne, PA- January 13, 2016 - Elemica, the leading Supply Chain Operating Network provider for the process industries, announces the issuance of US Patent Number 9,224,135 for a Method and Apparatus for Adaptive Configuration of Business Messages. The patent is directed to Elemica's next-generation QuickLink Network and is the third patent awarded to Elemica for recent developments to its proprietary supply chain operating network. The patent was issued for a feature of the network called Fix Me. Fix Me self-heals a variety of message failures that may occur between trading partners for numerous reasons. This innovative quality - inherent in the network - saves Elemica's customers a tremendous amount of time, effort and expense. The proprietary Fix Me technology removes the tedious forensics involved in message failures and mitigating their impact.

"Ensuring real-time business critical communications flow between partners on the network is a number one priority," said Arun Samuga, Vice President of Research and Development at Elemica. "With Fix Me, we've removed significant heavy lifting previously required in the resolution of failures with message exchange. This helps ensure low-touch disruption management."

Typical message failures fall into categories of delivery and message processing. Sub-categories fall under authentication issues, invalid content, incorrect or incomplete configuration, and errors in data enrichment or validation or system availability issues. The resolution of failures on legacy networks involve tiered escalations within support organizations who have the knowledge lying with a few individuals who understand various parts of the system effectively to eventually solve the problem.

Elemica's latest patented technology for setting and re-using context for message failures reduces the time it takes to support a partner on the network. Fix Me enables a user to store the context of a failure. With the network gradually collecting these contexts and building up a database of issues and their associated fixes over time, the Elemica network is able to match the context of a failure more effectively and recommend changes to fix the issue. Once in place, a user can fix the issue 'on-the-fly' and eventually automate resolving such issues. Fix Me also tracks system outage schedules by partner and automatically holds or processes messages based on availability of partner systems.
