Wildeck launches four new products

Wildeck, which makes mezzanine platforms, vertical lifts, and safety guarding equipment, rolled out four new products at the ProMat 2015 show this week: a vertical lift, a gate alarm, a knockdown stair, and a foldable ladder.

The XpressLift VRC is a modular vertical lift for totes that integrates into automated conveyor systems. This high-speed system can lift totes carrying up to 75 pounds of product 120 to 350 feet per minute. The totes roll off the conveyor onto what looks like a small section of roller conveyor, which is then lifted up (or lowered down) to a conveyor at a different height. Director of Marketing Hue Schlegel believes that the lift would work well for products like small parts, packaged goods, and pharmaceuticals.

The EdgeAlert Open Gate Alarm for mezzanines emits an alarm and a flashing light when a mezzanine swing gate is open. This inexpensive system is easily installed and runs on four flashlight batteries. The beauty of the alarm, according to Schlegel, is that it eliminates any chance that the gate will accidentally be left open, which could lead to falls and/or an OSHA violation. "OSHA is going to love this," Schlegel said.

The new knockdown staircase is a modular staircase designed for tight situations. Major parts of the staircase come already assembled, reducing installation time and aggravation. All of the parts can fit onto a standard pallet. This staircase will be available in June.

Finally, Ladder Industries, a subsidiary of Wildeck, was showcasing its new pivoting Rolastair. The product responds to a common problem: A facility needs to have a tall ladder, but the ladder is difficult to transport from one part of the building to another because it can't, for example, fit under a doorway. With the pivoting Rolastair, a pin can be removed and the stair can be folded down, allowing for easier transport.
