Material handling company Hytrol introduced two new products and offered a glimpse at its use of augmented reality to improve the customer experience during Modex 2018.
New products include the NBEZ and Prosort SS. The NBEZ is an all-electric narrow belt accumulator that reduces installation and maintenance costs while providing a more energy-efficient operation for package-handling operations. The Prosort SS is a small-item sorter that features a servo-driven sweep to protect products; a dual-sided, dual-tier setup to conserve space and reduce installation costs; onboard controls; and modular divert banks for easy expansion and maintenance.
Hytrol also offered an augmented reality tour of its Jonesboro, Ark., tech center during the show. Using 3-D glasses, customers can take a virtual tour of the tech center that includes a look at a wide variety of the company's systems and installations. Hytrol will use the technology in the field as well as at its physical tech center to provide a more comprehensive look at its services and capabilities.
