GlobalTranz launches digital freight matching tool

Freight technology vendor and third party logistics provider (3PL) GlobalTranz Enterprises Inc. today launched a digital freight matching (DFM) solution that combines the speed and ease of an app with multi-movement planning capabilities, the firm said.

Known as GTZamp, the product combines an abbreviation for Phoenix, Ariz.-based GlobalTranz (GTZ) with an acronym for automated movement planning (amp).

The platform supports the simultaneous combination and booking of multiple movements, using machine learning algorithms to leverage an enormous repository of live load and historical data to provide load recommendations, the company says. It accounts for prior performance, hours of service (HOS), locations of pick and drop, detention time, transit times, appointment and drop-off times, equipment type, and other variables.

GTZamp combines multiple predictive analytics techniques to deliver DFM for a superior shipper experience, the firm said."Today's shippers are challenged by increasingly complex supply chains, heightened customer demands, and capacity shortages," Greg Carter, chief technology officer at GlobalTranz, said in a release. "GTZamp answers that need with functionality that pre-plans routes with multiple movements in order to create efficiencies, reduce costs, and give shippers a competitive edge."

The launch comes at a time when both startups and established players in the freight industry have been releasing a range of digital freight matching platforms. In June and July alone, those have included products from Coyote Logistics, Banyan Technology Inc., Convoy, and XPO Logistics Inc.

GlobalTranz has also stayed busy in recent months, announcing its sale to a private equity owner in April, and purchasing Circle 8 Logistics the same month to mark its ninth acquisition since January of 2017.
