Mendoza, Argentina, February 4, 2020 -- Dachser, a premier global logistics solutions provider, announced that it has expanded its South America footprint yet again with a new sales office in the Mendoza wine region of Argentina. The new location situates Dachser in close proximity to customers in the region and strengthens its "vineyard-to-shelf" supply chain capabilities.

Argentine Malbec varietals constitute over 62 percent of the Argentina's total wine exports to 127 countries, and continues to gain in popularity worldwide. In fact, Argentine wine exports to the United States amounted to $212.64 million U.S. dollars, and over 47.5 million liters in 2018, according to the International Organization of Vine & Wine (OIV). Given these market developments, Dachser expanded its presence in this important region to accommodate anticipated market growth.

"With Mendoza establishing itself as the largest wine-producing area in Latin America, we felt building a presence in this region was a logical next step for Dachser, given our level of expertise on the challenges and opportunities associated with transporting wine," said Guido Gries, Managing Director, Dachser Air & Sea Logistics Americas. "With the advantage of having a specialized team of logistics experts near the wineries, Dachser can ensure that these delicate products are transported properly and efficiently."

Vineyard-to-shelf optimization with Dachser's innovative supply chain solutions
Dachser's Mendoza office will have the ability to locally address the growing demand for world-class Argentinian wine from a cohesive supply chain standpoint. From shipping a container via ocean freight service (FCL or LCL) or an international air freight shipment with a tight transit time, wine suppliers look to transportation and logistics experts, such as Dachser, to take care of every detail so the wine product reaches its final destination in the best condition.

With its extensive worldwide transportation and warehousing network including customs and excise duties handling, as well as services at the point of sale, and logistics for advertising materials which Dachser´s Food Logistics Business Unit is able to offer in Europe, Dachser enables Mendoza's wine producers to truly realize "vineyard-to-shelf" supply chain capabilities. Ranging from simple warehousing, to air freight and regular full container loads, multi-shipment consolidation, temperature-controlled containers, an innovative film for lining sea containers to protect the goods from temperature fluctuations and also flexitanks, Dachser adheres to the highest quality standards in providing end-to-end solutions within its own network.

Supporting the ripening growth opportunities of the Argentine wine industry
Widely recognized as the country with the highest wine production in South America, Argentina serves top import markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, Spain and others. Eduardo Fernandes, Country Manager of Dachser Argentina, adds, "Our presence in the Mendoza region highlights our commitment to the Argentine wine industry and its specific transportation and logistics requirements. By having an office in the Mendoza region close to local producers, we have the unique ability to offer customized supply chain solutions that create value and a competitive edge."

Dachser, a company with a solid and extensive global network and headquarters in Germany, is a premier transportation and logistics provider offering services of global optimization within the whole supply chain from the 'vineyard-to-the-shelf.'
