Keytroller's Tire-Saver device significantly improves tire life and prevents transmission abuse on forklifts and other industrial vehicles by not allowing a directional change if the vehicle speed or engine RPM is above set points. Whenever an operator tries to make a directional change at an excessive speed or RPM, the Tire-Saver causes the vehicle to continue in the same direction as if it were in neutral. It then requires the operator to brake until speed/RPM is reduced below the set points, at which point a direction change is permitted.
Customers report up to a 400-percent increase in tire life because the tires are not reversing and burning to slow the machine. Additionally, the vehicle mass is not being transferred to the transmission.
Keytroller now offers a new "N" series Tire-Saver device for new model Toyota, Cat, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Doosan, and Komatsu lift trucks. The plug-and-play device installs in minutes. The N series device kit consists of controller modules to set the speed and engine RPM threshold, as well as wiring harnesses to connect to the engine alternator and directional solenoids.
Older existing model Tire-Savers will fit other models of gas, LPG, or diesel lift trucks with electrically actuated directional control.
