Model 4100 and Model 4200 stand-up counterbalanced lift trucks

July 1, 2007

While celebrating its 85th anniversary in Greene, N.Y., the Raymond Corp. unveiled two new lift trucks. The new Model 4100 and Model 4200 stand-up counterbalanced lift trucks replace the company's older models and offer new features designed to enhance operator productivity and comfort.

The Model 4200 is designed for warehouse systems, with load capacities ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 pounds. The Model 4100 is engineered for dock work and comes with load capacities of 3,000 or 3,500 pounds. "The three-wheel stand-up design of these new trucks provides a smaller turning radius for greater maneuverability and easier handling in tight spaces," explains Jeff Leggett, director for counterbalanced truck products. "These trucks can perform right-angle stacking maneuvers in less total area, so a warehouse can switch to narrower aisles and increase storage space by as much as 10 percent."

Quick disconnect couplings for attachments are standard on both new trucks, making it easier to change from forks to a drum clamp, a slipsheet attachment, or other combinations is less time. A single-axis multifunction control handle includes a four-way switch for side shifting the forks and tilting the mast. This allows the operator to fine-tune the movement of all hydraulic functions for smooth load handling and precise control of attachments, according to the company.

Both new models include Raymond's ACR System with two AC drive motors. The company notes that AC delivers faster, smoother operation, more uptime, more runtime per charge, and lower maintenance costs than DC motors.

Both trucks also incorporate the company's ongoing research into ergonomics with specially designed handles that comfortably fit the hand and help position the hand and arm in a natural way to reduce stress and offer more comfort. Other ergonomic features include a spacious operator compartment with a padded backrest and an open-view mast.
