Hannibal South Welcomes State Senator Representatives for Facility Tour

October 22, 2018
No Comments

Today, Hannibal South welcomed Jason Fuller, Houston Regional Director for U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Jay Guerrero, Houston Regional Director for U.S. Senator John Cornyn and Tamara Browne, Director, Government Affairs for the Committee on Pipe and Tube Imports to tour its facility and discuss the growth of the steel industry. The tour was facilitated by Hannibal COO Reed Reynolds, who has become an integral part of leading the company's successes in Houston. Along with its Los Angeles and Stockton locations, Hannibal South provides more than 500 jobs and manufactures and ships approximately 100,000 tons of steel products per year.

"Hannibal has hit its stride in Houston since 2016, and we are honored to welcome so many delegates that are interested in keeping not just Houston moving forward, but the U.S. steel market, which is enjoying steady growth," said Reynolds. "We are proud of our employees, our facility and our products, which have continued to expand here at Hannibal South. We would like to thank Senators Cruz and Cornyn as well as Representative Lee and Tamara Browne for their time at Hannibal today."

The event included an overview of Hannibal and its rack production process and a tour of the facilities. Since its expansion into Houston in 2016, the company has seen incredible growth, in both sales and employee headcount, as well as been a voice for article 232 and how it has invigorated manufacturing in the U.S.

"The tour at Hannibal South provided an opportunity for representatives from the U.S. senate delegation from Texas to discuss important trade and competition issues that impact Hannibal and its employees in the region," said Browne. "Attendees engaged in productive dialog about the important topic of workforce development issues in Houston and provided resources that would assist in employee recruitment."

Hannibal Industries produces steel tubing and provides storage solutions for industries including: food and beverage, home improvement, warehouse distribution, retail, archive storage, automotive and 3PL providers globally. The company serves all the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
