Hyundai Material Handling and LoneStar Forklift Acknowledge the Anniversary of Harvey as they Recall how Their Partnership Helped Victims of the Relentless Storm
Norcross, GA (September 12, 2018) - Hyundai Material Handling and Lonestar Forklift are observing a year since Hurricane Harvey devastated the Houston area. Their partnership made it possible for Woodlands Church, a designated relief center, to distribute to victims of the storm over a million pounds of essential items such as bottled water, baby supplies, blankets and other necessities.
"The pastor of the Woodlands Church was only a few hours into the relief efforts when its only forklift took an untimely death," says Josh McSwain, Principal at LoneStar Forklift, as he recounts the story. "The quick-thinking Pastor Randy put a call into his friends at Lonestar Forklift in Houston, Texas," Mr. McSwain added.
"I heard immediately from LoneStar about the need in their community for a forklift and we didn't hesitate to help," says Chuck Leone, Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Material Handling. "We donated a brand new 25L-7A forklift (see photo) for this call to action as it was already on LoneStar Forklift's lot," added Mr. Leone.
With the delivery of the Hyundai forklift and the relief effort disaster narrowly being averted, "Hallelujah" - so the relief efforts continued for a very long time.
"We salute Woodland Church and its many volunteers for their strength and spirit to step up for helping the residents of Houston one year ago, its critical time of need," reflects Mr. Leone.
""We simply could not have done this it (relief work) without the partnership of LoneStar Forklift and Hyundai," said Pastor Randy.
"Hyundai is proud to build quality forklifts and deliver the tight-knit dealer support and services keeping businesses running, products moving and communities working together," added Mr. Leone.
"Hyundai is our number one product line and we developed a special bond during this period of compassion for our fellow man," added Mr. Swain. To see the video of the key presentation of the 25L-7A Hyundai Forklift to Pastor Randy at Woodlands Church, go to:
