The BXT3 is perfect for all types of applications, including heavy-duty applications requiring high tension force and extremely rough and tough environmental conditions as well as sensitive, light-duty applications requiring soft tensioning and small and thin straps.
The BXT3 is the world's first strapping tool with a number of important features including; real-time indication of tension force, variable tension speed, strap alignment indication, three color information display and acoustic signal. A quicker and simpler operation than comparable tools, the BXT3 is perfect for various recurring packaged goods with different setting requirements. The tool is also equipped with the ability to switch between standard and favorite settings, including tension force, welding time and operating mode.
"We are thrilled to introduce the Signode BXT3 at Modex 2018," says JR Stanley, Market Segment Manager, Signode Packaging Systems. "We listened closely to what customers wanted from a strapping tool and developed this product to meet the various requirements in a wide range of industries. The tool has a lot of unique and powerful features that are perfect for nearly every application.
Among the innovations on display will be Muller's Octopus™ "1717 C" automatic rotary ring stretch wrapper. The Octopus 1717C is competitively priced to automatic rotary arm and turntable machines in the 30-50 LPH range. With its compact size the new wrapper is versatile for a variety of applications and environments.
"We built the Octopus 1717C to give customers all the benefits they've come to expect from our Octopus rotary ring stretch wrap machines in a smaller footprint while providing optimal load containment and minimizing film usage" says Joe Albert, Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, Global Wrapping Technologies, Signode Industrial Group. "It's also a highly intuitive machine to operate and install considering its capabilities."
Muller will also be showcasing its popular Yellow Jacket Orbital Stretch Wrapper. Originally built by fabricators to solve the unique challenges of securing oddly shaped, heavy loads directly to the pallet, Muller's Yellow Jacket orbital stretch wrapper is the preferred load containment solution for fabricating industry veterans. The Yellow Jacket effectively secures complex fabrications, metal parts and loose assemblies on a pallet while simultaneously minimizing the time and labor traditionally required to secure the load to a pallet. Yellow Jacket's Orbital Stretch Wrapper is available in manual or semi-automatic. The 87M requires a footprint of only about 8'x9' and runs on 110VAC- making it easy to install in any environment. It also wraps a standard pallet size up to 68" diagonal.
"Muller is backed by some truly amazing solutions that continually set us apart from the competition," says Joe Albert, Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, Global Wrapping Technologies, Signode Industrial Group. "The Yellow Jacket is proof that our products provide industry specific solutions and we work tirelessly to help our customers solve all their load containment needs."
Attendees will also see Loveshaw's LDX RTB on display, an innovative random automatic case sealer developed specifically for customers seeking a case sealer that processes random size cases without an operator. This durable machine can process weak, void and overstuffed cases at high speeds and is ideal for high volume environments. With an expansive case range, easy access to motors, electrical and belts, and operation from all sides with moveable controls, it is one of the most versatile case sealers on the market. As safety continues to be a major concern for manufactures today, the LDX RTB is equipped with unique safety features like interlocking safety gates and automatic locking of the top drive assembly when there is loss of air or electric.

KUKA to Showcase Cobots for Medical Applications at AAOS Meeting

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich., Jan. 28, 2025 – Targeting the reduction of work-related injury for healthcare workers and shortening time-to-market for medical device OEMs, KUKA Robotics will bring two advanced medical innovations featuring cobot automation to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) annual meeting in booth #540. The event takes place in San Diego, California, March 10-14, and attendees will see how KUKA’s LBR iisy cobot solution helps reduce the incidence of arm and shoulder injury to ultrasound technicians and sonographers. A second cobot demonstration will feature a KUKA Robot Development Kit using a LBR MED 14 R820 cobot that helps slash development time for unique medical device solutions.

Because of the repetitive nature of their work, sonographers and ultrasound technicians commonly experience musculoskeletal disorders such as tendonitis and rotator cuff injury from their work that requires them to apply pressure with abnormal arm and shoulder positioning. Using robot technology such as KUKA’s LBR iisy cobot, however, can take the strain off these technicians by precisely conducting these repetitive exams autonomously. Equipped with a Haply Inverse3 Hapatic Feedback Teleop Device and an OptoForce FT Sensor, the LBR iisy robotic arm can be controlled and manipulated to apply the proper amount of force to the imaging head for a proper reading.
