BEUMER's Radcliffe to Address Reverse Logistics Challenges, Solutions During MODEX Presentation

March 13, 2018
No Comments

SOMERSET, NJ (March 13, 2018) - Once a supply chain afterthought, reverse logistics has become a leading topic as e-retailers and direct-to-consumer manufacturers search for ways to tackle the high rate of customer returns.

Brad Radcliffe, Vice President of Sales, Sortation & Distribution for BEUMER Corporation, will address reverse logistics challenges and offer solutions in his presentation, "Reverse Logistics: No Longer a Supply Chain Afterthought" during MODEX 2018. The seminar will be held on April 9 at 2: 15 p.m. in Theater H of the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga.

Radcliffe will discuss how high-speed loop sortation can effectively manage the costly process of handling an increasing volume of returned merchandise caused by escalating e-commerce sales. His presentation will include a parcel/e-commerce case study that compares loop sortation with line sortation. Key takeaways from the presentation are:

• Identify methods to receive and process the wide variety/ever-changing inbound product mix
• Determine appropriate product levels to justify automation
• Explore inbound product sortation and automation solutions

"Until now, sortation and distribution systems were never considered a viable option for reverse logistics because volumes and ROI weren't there," Radcliffe explained. "Today, the same technology that for decades has allowed companies to reduce labor costs and increase efficiencies and throughput on the front end can be used to achieve the same efficiencies in repacking to improve turn times."

Radcliffe heads BEUMER's North American Sales and Application Engineering teams that focus on developing "Best in Class" solutions for both the Parcel and Warehouse/Distribution industries. He is responsible for developing integrated solutions that are flexible, modular and sustainable.
