Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors Builds Out an All-Star Lineup of Distribution Center Consultants

Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors, a leading supply chain consulting firm, is pleased to announce the addition of three industry-recognized experts to the company's already impressive lineup of supply chain consultants. Colman Roche, Kevin Thuet and Don Savage bring extensive experience in automated material handling systems design for distribution centers to Commonwealth.

"At Commonwealth, we have assembled an 'all-star team' and armed it with sophisticated distribution center design tools," said Ian Hobkirk, Commonwealth's President. "As part of this team, Colman, Kevin and Don will play key roles in helping our clients tackle their most difficult distribution and supply chain challenges. It's not an exaggeration to say that this could be the top distribution center design team in North America. These three consultants add 100 years of collective experience designing over 700 distribution centers to the team's already impressive credentials. In this time of macro-economic change, companies that figure out how to use their supply chains to capture market share will win. Commonwealth's all-star consulting team is critical to this mission."

Mr. Roche joins Commonwealth as Vice President of Consulting and Mr. Thuet and Mr. Savage join as Senior Consultants. All three of these professionals have been involved in complex projects that have contributed to their deep expertise in system and facility design. Cumulatively, they hold multiple degrees and patents within their respective fields, confirming their expansive knowledge.

Mr. Roche has 30 years of experience in the supply chain field and a history of growing companies through customer focus and integrity. He brings to Commonwealth a vast knowledge of multi-technology systems design (automated storage and retrieval systems, vertical lift modules, carousels, robotics, automated guided vehicles and conveyance systems, etc.) and professional experience with a variety of equipment and technology manufacturers, such as KadexRemstar, Symbotic and Sapient.

Mr. Thuet has 28 years of broad industry experience assisting companies such as Nike, Motorola, USPS, Coca-Cola, and many others. He is responsible for designing the first automatic zero-error order fulfillment system for a major consumer electronics manufacturer, and one of the largest distribution and fulfillment centers in the world for a Fortune 100 apparel company. Prior to joining Commonwealth, Mr. Thuet was Senior Director of Integrated System Services at TGW Logistics Group. While there, he built the engineering departments which specialized in material handling systems development, distribution center design, system integration, installation, aftermarket and customer services, and retrofits and upgrades.

Mr. Savage has 33 years of experience designing successful integrated distribution center systems for leading companies, many of which have won industry awards. From manual to automated systems, he has worked extensively with multiple material handling technologies and has developed a highly effective method for describing material handling systems and software operation. Over the course of his career he has worked for leading global material handling systems manufacturers such as TGW Systems, Diamond Phoenix, System Logistics and White Systems.

Commonwealth has established itself as a pillar of technical competence in distribution center design and performance optimization. Additionally, the company has invested in the development of a new tool that is re-defining the client consulting experience with sophisticated, but intuitive, analytical capabilities designed to help supply chain executives make faster and more informed decisions about their strategic supply chain investments. This tool, DC Console™, has been used by Fortune 500 companies. As a result of this innovation and the concrete results cited by customers, Commonwealth has been featured on Supply Chain Brain's Top 100 Great Supply Chain Partners list for five years in a row. In 2016, the company expanded its national footprint by opening a regional office in Cincinnati, Ohio.
