Truckstop.com Reorganizes Leadership Team around Customer and Industry Relationships
NEW PLYMOUTH, ID — Truckstop.com, leaders in transportation technology and load board solutions, today announced a set of organizational changes within its leadership team. Bill Vitti and Brené Hutto, the company's Chief Sales Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, respectively, have stepped into new leadership positions.
"We've grown so much over the last few years," said Paris Cole, Truckstop.com's CEO. "As the needs of our customers change, and as our own needs change, it's essential the company's organizational structure evolves to meet those needs."
The company's CSO since 2015, Vitti will now take on the role of Chief Commercial Officer. In his new position, Vitti will oversee the marketing and customer support teams within the company, while continuing to lead the sales department.
"Truckstop.com's vision revolves entirely around the customer, about creating a 'better way' for the freight community to grow and prosper," said Cole. "Combining the support, sales, and marketing functions allows us to realize a more unified customer experience. Bill's background in this industry, and across our teams, make him perfectly-suited to better align our customers, our solutions, and our communications."
CMO since 2013, Hutto has accepted the newly-created role of Chief Relationship Officer for the company. In this position, Hutto will devote his time to deepening the Truckstop.com connection with key associations and organizations, media outlets, and other industry partnerships. Hutto will also act as the company's key point of contact for industry relations.
"We've worked hard over the past 22 years to forge industry partnerships, but there's so much more we could be doing," said Cole. "It's a basic rule, not only in business but in life: if you want to strengthen your relationships, you need to give them time and attention. Brené stepping into the CRO role illustrates our continued dedication to those values."

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.
