InfinityQS Named Finalist in 2017 Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service

FAIRFAX, Va. - Jan. 20, 2017 - InfinityQS International, Inc., the data, technology, and manufacturing experts that create enterprise visibility and promote global transformation, was named a Finalist today in the 11th annual Stevie® Awards for Sales & Customer Service, and will ultimately be a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award winner in the program. The company's sales team is recognized for a deft department overhaul that increased revenue, grew key lines of business and developed a sustainable sales model.

More than 2,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were evaluated in this year's competition, an increase of 10% over 2016. Finalists were determined by the average scores of 77 professionals worldwide, acting as preliminary judges. Entries were considered in 61 categories for customer service and contact center achievements, 53 categories for sales and business development achievements, and categories to recognize new products and services and solution providers.

"This year's first-round judges were treated to many inspiring stories of sales, customer service, and business development success around the world," said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. "The final judges will have a tough task to determine the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie placements from among the Finalists. We look forward to announcing the results at the awards gala in Las Vegas next month."

In 2015, Tommy Doran, VP of global sales, and John Hicks, manager of sales operations, activated drastic organizational changes to the sales department and primed InfinityQS for unprecedented sales. The complete department overhaul included realigning sales territories, refining individual responsibilities, shifting team mentalities, implementing the Miller Heiman Strategic Selling® and Conceptual Selling® methodology, tightening up the sales pipeline, and upending traditional prospecting strategies. In addition, each Sales professional studied for and received Six Sigma Green Belt certification to better understand the needs of their clients and prospects. The result is a well-oiled sales department that pushes through traditional barriers and recorded 22% total company year-over-year growth in 2016, including closing 100 additional orders over the previous year.

Michael Lyle, president and CEO, InfinityQS, said, "The InfinityQS Sales team demonstrated an immense dedication to the success of our business and pulled out all the stops to not only record the second highest annual sales number in the company's nearly 30-year history, but also double the number of cloud licenses InfinityQS manages. This definitive shift will have a lasting and sustainable impact on recurring revenue streams and the long-term financial success of the company. Congratulations to Tommy, John, and the entire InfinityQS Sales team."

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.
