Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that Wade McDaniel, vice president of solutions architecture, Avnet Velocity, will discuss bimodal supply chain strategy in a High-Tech Manufacturing Exchange panel at the Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference, titled "Business Ecosystems/Solution-Centric Supply Chains." The conference will be held at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix, and the panel will take place at 5: 00 p.m. PDT on Monday, May 16.
McDaniel is among four of panelists from leading supply chain companies who will provide insight into the issues and opportunities their companies face as "solutions orchestrators." In addition, panelists will discuss how they work across ecosystems of business partners to create customer value and support growth for all organizations involved in the supply chain. Stan Aranow, vice president of research for Gartner, will moderate the session.
"As our customers demand more unique and innovative approaches to manage their complex global supply chains, the balance that a bimodal supply chain strategy provides is an efficient way to support growth," said McDaniel. "There are many factors to consider when building a supply chain, however, and taking a solutions-centric approach will help ensure success across the value stream."
McDaniel leads the Avnet Velocity team's efforts in designing and implementing supply chain solutions for Avnet and its customers. His expertise includes supply chain engineering, supply chain finance, warehouse management and worldwide transportation logistics. He has more than 25 years of supply chain experience in the high-tech industry.
The Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference is an annual gathering of senior supply chain executives. The event provides critical insights, tools and relationships to help attendees prepare their organizations for future success. At this year's conference, chief supply chain officers and their leadership teams will learn how to create and manage bimodal value chain strategy that achieves essential performance goals while simultaneously allowing for iteration and experimentation.
