Crane Worldwide Logistics has been awarded a contract to manage over 35,000 individual line items of Heavy Duty spare parts for Intertruck in their state of the art facility in Dubai.

Intertruck Group is an internationally-operating supplier of truck, trailer, bus and off-highway vehicle parts, established in 1963. Based in the Netherlands, the company has become a leading worldwide player with subsidiaries in Germany, Zambia and Dubai. Crane Worldwide Logistics presented a bespoke solution to Intertruck that identified core cost reduction in the storage of Heavy Duty parts including a shelving environment to house individual piece items. The rising facility costs in the UAE is putting significant pressure on manufacturers and their storage capabilities.

Marcel van Eeuwen, Intertruck Group's CEO added 'Intertruck's brand range has now grown to over 10,000 products. We are reaching the point that using a Third Party Logistics provider will guarantee the best service level for our customers. Crane Worldwide Logistics could meet our requirements and was the obvious choice."

Our implementation team concentrates on a seamless transition during the initial phases to ensure minimal supply chain disruption.

The contract began at the beginning of February 2016 and will be in place for 3 years.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.
