Pelican BioThermal Announces Credo™ on Demand General Availability

New rental program for high-performance temperature-controlled pallet shippers offers a proven cost-effective option for cold chain shipping

Pelican BioThermal Announces Credo™ on Demand General Availability

Pelican BioThermal, a global leader providing the broadest and most innovative range of temperature-controlled packaging solutions serving the life sciences industry, now offers Cr?do™ on Demand for pallet shippers.

The rental service, which uses passive Cr?do Xtreme™ pallet shippers, provides options such as pre-conditioning and end of rental drop-off at an expanding number of worldwide service centers, including North America, Europe and Asia. The program offers 12-day standard rentals, including qualification reports and clean, freshly refurbished Cr?do Xtreme shippers, with dedicated stock available at each location. Customers can pick up and drop off a shipper at Pelican BioThermal's service centers or may return it to a regional consolidation center for an additional fee.

"With a strong focus on cost-reduction, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and their logistics providers, are looking for alternatives to active containers," explained Kevin Lawler, Vice President of Sales at Pelican BioThermal. "By offering a range of services, including preconditioning, at a number of global service centers, we are able to simplify the process of transporting temperature-sensitive payloads and effectively reduce costs. We offer a generous rental period and have a ready supply of containers for both customers and partners."

With outer dimensions of 48"x40"x52" (1219x1016x1320mm) and payload dimensions of 1046x843x1008mm (Volume - 806 Liters), combined with duration of 120+ hours (ISTA 7), the Cr?do Xtreme™ offers a viable solution for a variety of shipping environments. Use of passive Cr?do Xtreme pallet shippers also offers a less costly and more manageable alternative to active shipper systems.

"As the leading supply chain logistics provider in the industry, Marken added the Cr?do Xtreme bulk shipper to the packaging solutions we offer to clients," explained Dan Bell, Vice President, Regulatory Compliance and Technical Affairs at Marken. "Reusable, passive temperature control solutions are often preferable over the active shipper equivalent, especially for simplified implementation and to help clients reduce overall costs for specific projects."

Cr?do on Demand benefits include:
• Durable passive temperature-controlled system that is less costly than active systems, and offers easy implementation
• Global availability, convenient pick-up and drop-off locations
• Standard 12-day rentals with extended options also available
• Pre-conditioning available for quick 'load and go'
• Battery power is not needed, meaning fewer SOPs
• Preconditioning at one of three temperature ranges: +2C to +8C chilled, +15C to +25C Ambient and -20C Frozen

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself.
