Displaying its Automatic Parcel Singulator (APS) for the first time at the ProMat trade show, Beumer Corp. showed its ability to sort and induct a line of products at high speed. Whether it handles boxes, parcels, polybags, totes or flats, the APS transforms a bulk flow of parcels into a flow that is metered for high-capacity loop sortation.
By producing a single line of items in fast flow, the APS allows users to efficiently deploy their sorters in applications such as parcel shipping and e-commerce fulfillment. The design is new to North America and allows Beumer to expand its presence in sortation, adding to the company's support of distribution, palletizing and packaging systems.
Also running in the company's booth was a demonstration of its automated BS 7 cross-belt sorter, the same type used by Chico's, DSW, Lands' End and other large retail entities in their e-fulfilment, retail/wholesale replenishment, and parcel operations. Visitors could practice inducting sample items via a choice of direct-to-bag, direct-to-tote, or accumulation-chute discharges.
