Sapient Automation has introduced a new system that can remotely monitor the operation of horizontal carousels. The real-time monitoring system can send alerts to Sapient's Customer One Protection team when it detects variances or anomalies such as amperage going out of specified parameters.
The Intelligent Machine Health Monitoring System (IMHM) is standard on all of Sapient's Hornet Horizontal Carousels and can be installed on other horizontal carousels regardless of manufacture or age, said Ed Romaine, the company's chief marketing officer during a press conference at ProMat on Monday.
The IMHM system remotely monitors critical thresholds, actual carousel usage, picks, run time, energy consumption levels, and other factors. The system is designed to keep horizontal carousel systems up and running and extend component and system lifetime utilization, Romaine says.
Sapient Automation, a subsidiary of MDCI, is a provider of automated storage and retrieval systems for manufacturing, distribution, warehouses, institutions, retail, and wholesale.
