CEVA Logistics and home furnishings retailer IKEA have opened a Customer Distribution Center on Staten Island, the companies said today. Baar, Switzerland-based CEVA has a five-year deal to provide warehouse management and fulfillment services at the center, which will serve the Swedish retailer's New York-area cutomers, the companies also said.
The 975,000 square-foot facility is fully operational and open seven days a week, according to the companies. IKEA built the facility on a previously vacant 200-acre piece of land on Staten Island's west shore.
The facility will handle delivery of online orders as well as orders for larger items purchased at IKEA stores or its Planning Studio, the companies also said.
