GlobalTranz notches latest acquisition with California freight brokerage

Freight technology vendor and third party logistics provider (3PL) GlobalTranz Enterprises Inc. is opening up the new year with a refreshed transportation management system (TMS) product and news that it has gobbled up yet another tech firm—its 8th acquisition since January 2017.

GlobalTranz made a spate of strategic acquisitions throughout 2018, following the firm's 2018 acquisition by private equity firm The Jordan Co. L.P. The company has not rested on its laurels in the new year, but said yesterday that it had bought out a Riverside, Calif.-based freight brokerage and logistics company called Our Freight Guy.

According to GlobalTranz, the latest purchase solidifies its position in the freight brokerage sector and validates the continued strength of the freight agent business model.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Also this week, GlobalTranz released the latest upgrade of its TMS platform, saying the latest version could help shippers, logistics service providers (LSPs) and carriers to monitor and manage their logistics and transportation operations. The new release of GTZcommand offers features such as automated digital freight matching, real time tracking & notifications, workflow management, analytics, and other capabilities, the Phoenix-based company said.
