DHL eCommerce, a division of global transportation and logistics provider DHL, is partnering with shipping software provider Easyship to offer same-day and next-day shipping to more customers, the company said December 18.
The partnership allows e-commerce merchants to offer same-day and next-day shipping via DHL's Parcel Metro Service. The program went live December 17 in Los Angeles, New York City and Chicago, and offers a more affordable way for small and mid-sized customers, in particular, to meet online shoppers' demand for faster delivery, the company said.
"Historically, it would be cost prohibitive for small- and medium-sized online merchants to offer same-day or next-day shipping delivery options to their shoppers," DHL said in a statement announcing the new service. "But the partnership with DHL Parcel Metro connects directly into Easyship's online platform partners, including BigCommerce, Shopify, and eBay, allowing online merchants to offer best-in-class shipping solutions in a more cost-effective way."
Hong Kong-based Easyship helps e-commerce merchants ship worldwide via its cloud-based technology platform.
