Automated piece-picking startup RightHand Robotics Inc. said Wednesday it had partnered with order fulfillment service provider Capacity LLC to create a warehouse material handling system that could offer a competitive edge to Capacity's clients by increasing their levels of automation in handling e-commerce and B2B orders, the firms said.
The collaboration will integrate RightHand's RightPick automation system into North Brunswick, N.J.-based Capacity's Lightning Pick fulfillment solution, according to Somerville, Mass.-based RightHand.
Capacity said it will integrate the platforms first in its New Jersey fulfillment center this year, and later expand to its California location. Capacity provides order fulfillment, e-commerce, and electronic data interchange (EDI) services, and deploys automation technology to improve speed, accuracy, and flexibility for its clients' omnichannel fulfillment needs, the company said.
RightHand has integrated its robotic technology with several partners in recent months, most recently announcing in April that it would collaborate with mobile robot vendor Vecna Robotics on a platform for autonomous e-commerce order fulfillment.
