Data capture and supply chain analytics provider Barcoding Inc. will partner with consumer electronics vendor Samsung Electronics America Inc. in a move to provide consumer-grade tablets, smartphones, and accessories to its supply chain customers.

Running its data capture technology on Samsung devices will allow Baltimore-based Barcoding to support high reliability of use while helping its customers complete their mobile transformation projects as they build a more digital supply chain, the company said.

Barcoding customers will now be able to use certain Samsung Galaxy tablets, devices, and solutions, including the Galaxy Tab Active2, Galaxy Note unlocked smartphones, and Knox enterprise mobile security solution, the company said. Those tools will provide a reliable platform for professionals in the distribution, events and hospitality, fleet, manufacturing, retail, and transportation logistics fields, the firm said.

Deploying Samsung devices for supply chain operations will help enterprise users to access, create, and manipulate data at locations from logistics cross-docks to truck fleet electronic logging devices (ELDs), the company said.

"Samsung, through its Knox defense-grade security platform, provides configurability and flexibility for systems integrators such as ourselves to support deployment and life cycle management services, which have become very important for our customer base, and really all customers in the enterprise space," Ken Currie, Barcoding's vice president of business development, said in a statement.
