Rite-Hite opens new office in Milwaukee's Third Ward

Company says growth drives need for additional space.

Material handling systems manufacturer Rite-Hite has expanded its operations by adding an office location in Milwaukee's historic Third Ward. The 12,500-square-foot facility will house 20-plus full-time sales management and corporate marketing employees.

In addition, the new location will feature an education center that will host up to 24 additional people at a time for an international 3-month sales training program. The first training classes started at the end of February. The Rite-Hite Sales Academy, which provides training for existing salespeople, will also reside here, the company says.


The company said in a statement that it has grown steadily in recent years and is up to over 2,000 employees worldwide, having added more than 200 people to its global workforce since 2014. Rite-Hite's Milwaukee area-facilities include the company's corporate headquarters and a research and development facility, both in Brown Deer, Wisc. In addition to its Milwaukee locations, the company operates plants in Iowa and Mississippi, and also has sales, service and manufacturing in China, Europe, and Canada.

Rite-Hite's products include vehicle restraints, dock levelers, integrated controls, dock seals and shelters, industrial doors, HVLS fans, safety barrier, industrial curtain walls, machine guarding systems, and aftermarket products and services.

East and Gulf coast strike averted with 11th-hour agreement

Shippers today are praising an 11th-hour contract agreement that has averted the threat of a strike by dockworkers at East and Gulf coast ports that could have frozen container imports and exports as soon as January 16.

Logistics industry growth slowed in December due to a seasonal wind-down of inventory and following one of the busiest holiday shopping seasons on record, according to the latest Logistics Managers’ Index (LMI) report, released this week.

The monthly LMI was 57.3 in December, down more than a percentage point from November’s reading of 58.4. Despite the slowdown, economic activity across the industry continued to expand, as an LMI reading above 50 indicates growth and a reading below 50 indicates contraction.

As U.S. small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face an uncertain business landscape in 2025, a substantial majority (67%) expect positive growth in the new year compared to 2024, according to a survey from DHL.
