Freight-pricing software firm SMC3 Inc. today said it was adding enhanced small-package rating capabilities to its less-than-truckload (LTL) rating and auditing solutions.
Atlanta-based SMC3 said it would release the upgraded versions of its RateWare XL and BatchMark XL application programming interface (API)-based analytical solutions in February.
Shippers and other supply chain stakeholders use the tools to manage LTL rating complexity in both classification and density-rating standards, the firm said. They will soon be able to use the advanced competencies to optimize small-shipment rating via both UPS Inc. and FedEx Corp., according to SMC3. The upgraded RateWare XL and BatchMark XL will feature rating information for FedEx express, ground, home delivery, overnight, and two-day services; and will offer UPS rates for next-day, two-day, three-day, and ground shipments.
"We're dedicated to solving the entire LTL shipment lifecycle, taking our customers through transportation procurement, pricing, and transit-time analysis, all the way to shipment execution, visibility, and audit," Andrew Slusher, SMC3's president and CEO, said in a statement. "Adding small-package capabilities to our time-tested solutions is just one example of how SMC3 is constantly adapting and evolving."
