Convey integrates shipping software with Ingram Micro Commerce & Fulfillment

Logistics technology firm Convey will integrate its cloud-based shipping software with a last-mile delivery application from Ingram Micro Commerce & Fulfillment, the companies said today.

Under the agreement, Austin, Texas-based Convey will provide its Engage product—a customer delivery experience management tool—and its Initiate product, a transportation planning and management application, Convey said. Those applications will now be connected with Ingram Micro's First Mile and Final Mile solutions, which provide services spanning from order management and fulfillment to transportation management.

Convey will support the initiative with fresh funding from an $8.25 million investment by the venture capital firms Techstars Venture Capital Fund and RPM Ventures, which was also announced today. The new capital brings Convey's total funding to $15.75 million. It will be used in part to pursue new opportunities beyond its core retail buisness, the company said in a statement.

Convey launched its Engage platform in 2016, saying the platform would let e-commerce retailers manage in-transit shipments and address shipping snarls before they affect consumers. The company's customers include Build.com, BuildDirect, Power Equipment Direct, ShoppersChoice.com, and Vitalize, according to Convey.

"The need to reduce operating and support costs, enhance decision-making, and synchronize processes across functions are critical drivers for supply chain technology investment today," RPM Ventures Managing Director Tony Grover said in a statement. "Convey understands how to turn these challenges into advantages for their customers, and we look forward to working with them as they expand their focus to new markets."
